Lead demand planning in a fast‑paced FMCG environment, owning S&OP forecasts and turning ERP and Slimstock insights into actionable, business‑impacting plans.

Job description

About the role

HG is looking for a Demand Lead to strengthen the Operations team in Almere. In this role, you play a central role in further developing Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) within a fast‑moving FMCG environment. You take ownership of the demand planning process and contribute directly to improving business performance across the organisation.

You combine strong analytical skills with a hands-on approach to demand planning tooling. You are comfortable working with ERP systems and advanced forecasting solutions such as Slimstock, and you know how to translate data into clear insights and actionable plans that fit the dynamics of an FMCG business.

HG operates in a dynamic, international FMCG landscape and is preparing for the next phase of growth. After a period of major operational changes, the organisation is now in a stable position and ready to further professionalise S&OP. Tooling, forecasting models and master data play a key role in this next step. As Demand Lead, you help shape this development and strengthen a robust, data‑driven S&OP process.

You work closely with stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance and Logistics, both in the Netherlands and internationally.

What you will do

Demand Planning & Forecasting

  • Set up and lead the forecasting process in a high‑volume, high‑variability FMCG context, using historical data, statistical forecast models, market developments and input from Sales & Marketing

  • Use ERP systems and forecasting tools (such as Slimstock) to create and manage a rolling forecast

  • Translate the rolling forecast into a robust and accurate demand plan

  • Monitor and analyse forecast accuracy and identify root causes behind deviations, typical for FMCG environments (e.g. promotions, seasonality, product launches)

S&OP & Stakeholder Management

  • Take the lead in further developing and optimising the S&OP process within HG

  • Align periodically with Supply on capacity and material availability based on the demand plan

  • Advise Sales and Marketing on planned commercial actions and their impact on demand

  • Provide input on New Product Introductions and phase‑outs, taking into account FMCG life cycles

  • Act as a key link between planning, systems and stakeholders to ensure one aligned forecast

You will work from the HG head office in Almere and cooperate closely with international sales offices and external manufacturing and logistics partners. You report to the Supply Chain Manager.
