About the role
HG is looking for a Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist to strengthen our Regulatory Affairs team in Almere. In this key role, you ensure HG’s products meet all relevant EU, UK, and international regulations and actively contribute to the safe, sustainable, and compliant growth of our business. You’ll work across HG’s full product portfolio and on three brands, combining regulatory expertise with a hands-on, business-oriented approach.
You’ll interact daily with R&D, QA, Marketing, and Supply Chain, work across Europe and beyond, and be involved in both operational and strategic topics. Compliance has a central place in our strategy, and your expertise will help drive that ambition.
What you will do
Monitor and analyse regulatory developments in the EU and UK related to detergents, biocides, and maintenance products for the consumer market.
Anticipate the impact of new legislation (e.g., Green Deal impact) and propose strategic responses for HG.
Ensure product, label, packaging, and marketing compliance across all regions.
Prepare and submit regulatory documentation, including SDSs, risk assessments product/packaging/raw material dossiers).
Provide expert input to R&D on ingredients and formulations, and to Marketing on product claims.
Lead, cross-functional regulatory projects, managing priorities and deadlines.
Review deliverables of colleagues and answer regulatory questions
Share expertise through internal trainings
You will report to the Team Lead Regulatory Affairs and work closely with R&D, QA, Marketing, and Supply Chain.
What the first 6 months will look like
Getting to know the company and colleagues through informal meetings and visits to our lab, production, and warehouse.
Training on relevant software and regulations.
Attending regulatory conferences or courses to strengthen specific knowledge areas.
Supporting regulatory colleagues on ongoing projects to understand processes and tools.
Selecting one or two major projects that match your expertise and interest to lead as your first ownership area.
Job requirements
Job requirements
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
At least 7 years of experience in relevant European product regulations.
Expertise in at least five of the following regulations: BPR, REACH, CLP, Detergent Regulations, ADR, Packaging Waste Directive, GPSD, ESPR, and the SSbD framework.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Analytical, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset.
English (Profesional working proficiency)
