The Role

Are you a driven commercial talent who loves being on the road and making things happen? Join HG Italy as our new Field Sales Manager and take the lead in growing our presence in the Italian DIY retail market.

You’ll be part of a small, close-knit team of three in Italy – supported by our international headquarters in the Netherlands and colleagues across Europe. This role is all about managing key retail accounts, leading our nationwide agent network, and owning commercial execution in the field. With you hands-on attitude and strong sense of ownership, you’ll play a crucial role in driving our growth in Italy.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and energize our network of external commercial agents to maximize performance and market reach.

  • Frequent store visits focused on business development and strengthening customer relationships.

  • Own and grow long-term relationships with key DIY retail accounts across Italy.

  • Develop and execute Joint Business Plans with strategic customers to exceed sales targets.

  • Act as the local expert, staying on top of customer needs, category trends and retail dynamics.

  • Take charge of commercial execution, from forecasting to on-shelf execution and strong in-store presence.

  • Collaborate closely with the Cluster director and our HQ in the Netherlands, embracing our values:

Job requirements

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in field sales in the DIY channel

  • A strong relationship builder with experience in account management (or potential for it)

  • A natural leader who knows how to get the best out of a remote agent network.

  • Autonomous, dynamic, and proactive person, ready to travel and deliver results.

  • Someone with deep knowledge of the DIY retail landscape in Italy (or fast learner with relevant FMCG/retail experience).

  • Comfortable working independently yet deeply connected with our team and purpose.
